31DC2013 Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie

DC2013 Day 23 - Inspired by a Movie: X-Men

I think it's pretty obvious what movie I chose! :)
For my X-men Manicure, I used Wow Cosmetics black nail polish. On my middle finger I drew with Sally Hansen Silver nail art pen, on my thumb I used BeautyCare polish num' 15.
And on mu ring finger, I used Barry M - Silver Foil with striping tape to create wolverine's claws. I topped everything with Essie Matte about you top coat, for a leather look.

31DC2013 Day 22 - Inspired by a Song: Hotel California

31DC2013 Day 22 - Inspired by a Song: Hotel California

After a lot of debating with myself and my boyfriend, I decided to go for Eagles - Hotel California.
I added some elements from the lyrics.
The base of the nail art is a desert sky\scenery. I used the following polishes for the gradient: China Glaze - Kalahari Kiss, Essence 118 - Little Miss Sunrise & Zoya - Arizona.
So the palm trees are for the general California desert feeling, from plates BM-315 & W106.
Cocktails are from W106 plate as well, and the birds & hotel I drew :D.
Hope you like it!

31DC2013 Day 21 - Inspired by a Color: Green!

31DC2013 Day 21 - Inspired by a Color: Green!

Short post today, I chose the color green :)
The base is the lovely Catrice - Green Days (applied 2 coats), and I stamped with Orly - Wandering Vine a design from Winstonia plate W119.

31DC2013 Day 20 - Water Marble

31DC2013 Day 20 - Water Marble

I have a confession to make - I hate water marbling. I'm not good at it, and I can't make it work. Even for this poorly performance took me at least 5 tries. The part that I find difficult is finding polishes that expand properly in the water, I tried so many polishes. Also what I really don't like that it wastes so much formula. So, yeah, I admit the result is beautiful, and that I am talking from frustration here haha, but this is definitely one of my least favorites manicure.

The polishes that I found to work together, are Sinful Colors - Unicorn & Barry M - Papaya.
Thanks for for visiting as always, and would love to hear any tips you have for water marbling.

KIKO 337
Essence - Grey't to be here
And on top, I drew the little stars & applied GK 734 Holographic glitter.

31DC2013 Day 18 - Half Moons

31DC2013 Day 18 - Half Moons

Just lately I discovered how much I love this design, and I was glad for the opportunity to try it again :)
I was actually inspired by Rihanna. I was looking pictures of her nail designs for nail designs forum.
I saw this design and it got me inspired and I wanted to try something similar since.
I love a great this looks, it's so classic and sophisticated and simple which is the best part.

The base color is Inglot 331, which I must say, after trying it more than once - I'm not a fan of it's formulla at all! But it is a perfect shade of pink so I got to love it.

31DC2013 Day 17 - Glitter

31DC2013 Day 17 - Glitter, with Catrice 40 - I'm Dynamite

When I think about glitter, I think glitter gradient. It's one of my favorite manicures and I just can't get sick of it! :) I wish my nails were a bit longer, and it would look even better! ^_^

Today's details are simple, on top of 2 coats of the lovely KIKO 338, which is the perfect shade - purple\blue cream, I applied a light layer of Catrice 40 - I'm Dynamite. I absolutely adore this glitter, It's shade is just perfect, and I love the two different sizes of the glitters.

And again I will recommend my favorite glitter gradient tutorial by Lucy's stash, for me it works best.
Thanks for visiting as always :)
